Why this kind of app is expensive

Pairing with hardware over Bluetooth and keeping metrics in sync in real time during a live class is a device-integration problem most apps never touch.

Live class streaming has to hold up for thousands of people pressing play at the same scheduled minute, a load spike a normal on-demand catalog does not face.

A leaderboard that updates in real time during a live workout is the same class of problem as a live game's scoreboard, and the whole product is a subscription, so billing and hardware-linked accounts have to work together cleanly.

The cheapest honest version of this idea is on-demand classes only, no live streaming, no leaderboards at launch. That lands nearer $20k–$45k.
