Why this kind of app is expensive

Continuous GPS tracking that stays accurate through tunnels, tree cover, and a dying battery is harder than it looks, and it is the entire product if it is wrong.

Segments and leaderboards mean comparing thousands of people's routes against the same stretch of road, a real matching and ranking problem at scale.

A social feed layered on fitness data needs privacy controls a generic feed does not, and premium analytics has to feel meaningfully deeper than the free tier or the subscription does not hold.

The cheapest honest version of this idea is solo tracking only, no segments or leaderboards, no clubs at launch. That lands nearer $20k–$44k.
